Don't Let Others Bring You Down!

When we are changing ourselves for the better, there will always be someone or maybe even a whole group of people that want to bring you down to where they are. They may be uncomfortable with how well you are doing, they could be jealous and bitter toward you. They may want to try to ruin what you have achieved. They may speak about your past all of the time in hopes that you will want to go backward and be who you were before. They will most likely gossip about you to others because they are jealous.
For myself as I become more hungry each day for God's Word and am growing in my Faith it seems that some family members are getting angry that I am changing along with my husband. We are becoming stronger in our marriage while others are trying to ruin what we are building at the same time. I understand it is the enemy and in the past we have allowed the enemy in. This time and from now on, we choose God. God is our #1 ! Going back to how things were before wouldn't be the right thing to do just because that's what "man" wants. We are way better off doing what God wants us to do and keep moving forward.
The people that have difficulty with the people that are making positive changes in their life are the people that may have a serious problem on the inside and should stop worrying about others' lives and worry about their own. Perhaps they need to focus on their own life for awhile to better seek what the real issue is. Instead of trying to reason with these people it's best just to distance yourself from them for a bit. Pray for these people. There's no reason to try to explain why you are trying to change yourself because you don't need to explain to anybody on this Earth at all. If you are changing because you finally found the Lord then that is awesome! That is a great thing!

2 Timothy 3:12 (NLT)
Yes, and everyone who wants to live a Godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

John 15:18 (NLT) Jesus says,
"If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first.

1 Peter 3:17 (NLT)
Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong.

Proverbs 1:7 (NLT)
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
