Ask And You Shall Receive

I used to always here this quote before I became a Christian but I didn't quite get it. I do now because I have had great things happen because I believe and have faith that God will help me. I will share a little personal experience I have had and know that it was God that helped me. But first you should read what Jesus says in (NLT) Matthew 7:7-8 , 7, Keep on asking, and you shall receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 8, For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

I was in a very hard place not too long ago and was left by myself with my 2 kids because my husband had some addiction problems at that time that he chose. He is fine now thanks to God; I prayed a lot for him while he was gone. But that is not what I wanted to speak about. When he left me at this time, he had most of the money. I wasn't making very much money and rent was due soon and I didn't have much of it. I prayed for help with the finances so I can pay the rent. The morning that the rent was due, I told my son because he is almost twenty years old (he understands), I told him how I am not sure about how I will come up with the rest of the rent. Later on that day, a customer (I clean homes for a living), decided to start paying me by the month. I couldn't believe that it happened that way because it was so unexpected. I was cleaning for these people for months and then this day they decided to start paying me by the month. So I ended up having enough for rent after all. For sure, God made this happen. He has such perfect timing and He knows what we need. I asked Him for help and He helped. I shouldn't had worried the way I did but this sure helped my faith grow that day. If you have any comments on this or also have something you would like to share, I would love to hear. Thanks for reading this and I hope you enjoyed reading this!

Be Who You Are

If you have already gave your life to Jesus Christ, the old you is now gone, finished, here no more. 2 Corinthians 5:17 This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!
Even when our life feels like a mess we have to change our beliefs. We have to know that we just in a storm right now and it will pass. God has something better for us we just have to stay strong through the storm and remain the new person we are now rather than falling back into old patterns. We will overcome our habits that we may have that we can't just get rid of at this time. Just know that just because you are going through a difficult time and may still have habits you haven't gotten rid of just yet, as a spiritual being you are not at all who you were before you gave your life to Christ. Many of us after we give our life to Christ think we have to do everything perfect or else. It is a process and a new lifestyle you will be experiencing and you will be just fine as long as you think better about yourself. You have been given a new nature when you gave your life to Christ. You are a valuable child of God, regardless of your false beliefs or habits that you still need to change.

Having Faith

Why do we not trust in God? Many of us say that we do but, when we have a fear of something such as anxiety, worry, or we are sad, angry or depressed because of something of this world we are not putting our trust in the Lord. If we have faith and we trust in the Lord we will not be worried about things because we know that He will take care of whatever our needs are. Worry is something that I struggle with from time to time. But, now when I do I have become aware that it is wrong for me to worry about things. God will take care of everything I need as long as I have faith in Him and I trust in Him. If I allow myself to constantly worry about things it will not help anything or anybody around me. The worry would also begin to control me and can eventually make me sick. It is not healthy for any of us. Our God is very faithful, he knows everything we need, everything we think and He knows better than us. So we must do what is right and obey God and stop trying to do everything our way. Have faith and everything will work out.

(NLT) Deuteronomy 7:9, Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his convenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love Him and obey His commands.

Our Words Are Important

So, did you know how important and powerful our Words are? I never thought of this but just recently, a mature Christian woman pointed this out to me. Our Words have a huge affect on how we feel and act. We should not say negative words because what happens when we do? We end up behaving in a negative way and we begin complaining or whining all of the time to people then we just get so used to speaking this way this is what we will do all of the time. It's hard to have a good day when you are negative all day. I know from experience. It is very difficult because this is what I have been used to and this is how many people in my life have been so when I am around them sometimes I struggle with remaining in a positive attitude. I have to pray for strength to remain in a positive mood before I get together with these people. I love them all as I should of course. But, for my sanity and my ongoing changing of myself I must not allow the enemy (other's negativity) inside of me and now I have learned that I must not speak some of the words I have spoken in order to stay happy and positive. Words can have a tremendous impact on children at home this is another reason why we should choose our Words wisely. People don't forget horrible, "in the moment" Words. Kids remember a lot more than what we may think so, use the encouraging Words, loving Words, only good Words. If you feel so angry and irritated leave the room and pray out loud until you feel better instead of saying Words that you will later regret. Words heal us or make us sick. Words bless us or curse us.
Jesus said, (NKJV) Matthew 12:37- "For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned."
Our Words we speak is what makes us who we are today.

Having Hope

(NKJV) Jeremiah 29:11- For I know your thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

I love this verse! The Lord is letting us know that He is only thinking and wanting peace for us and happiness not misery, anger and anxiety. He wants us all to have hope and faith for the future. We have to have Faith and trust in God even when it feels like there is no hope, even when we feel discouraged and can't see past the negative things in our lives. We have to read this verse over and over when we feel this way. It will help when you are feeling down and hopeless.

Also read (NKJV) Isaiah 41:10- Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

Pray For Others

Do you have difficult people in your life? Do you have people that are always trying to bring you down or make you feel so negative after you speak to them? Many of us do have these people in our lives. The thing is we have to learn how to stop taking it personally when these people lash out at us. They are obviously the ones with the problem. Sometimes people will constantly put others down only to make themselves feel so much better. It makes them feel more important or superior than the one they are putting down. When they see us actually reacting to their behaviour and what they are saying is showing that it is affecting us and they like that. We have to look at their behaviour as coming from the enemy (devil) because it is actually is. God would never be part of that. That person most likely is distant from God and our job would be to stop reacting even though it hurts and just pray for them. We still should give them love. We should still bless them in whatever way we can and eventually that person that has all these negative behaviours will begin to change. We can't change them. We have to give them time and space. We have to know that nobody is perfect and just because we don't act this way doesn't mean everybody else will be the same. So again, I'm suggesting for anybody that is totally annoyed or irritated by somebody's behaviour, don't give up on them. Pray for them!
